Most recently we had a customer who brought in their 2007 Audi Q7 complaining that their check engine light was on as well as their EPC light. They explained to us that they had also noticed some strange noise coming from the engine. Our team of ASE certified technicians diagnosed the problem by scanning for codes without factory level diagnostic tools. They also traced the strange noise to the timing chain area. To resolve the engine problem, we replaced the timing chains, tensioner, and the associated gaskets. The process of this Audi engine repair is lengthy because it requires us to drop the engine, transmission, and subframe out of the car. After dropping them out of the vehicle, our ASE certified technician inspect the engine chains and surrounding areas to ensure that the correct repair is being made. Then after removing the old chains, the technician will carefully hand clean the engine in order to keep the proper texture which allows everything to seal properly once the repair is complete and it will protect against leaks. Once the technician replaces the timing chains, tensioner, and the associated gaskets he will replace everything back into the vehicle that had been dropped out. Lastly, we take the car for a test drive to ensure that everything is in good working order and prepare it to be returned to the customer with a car wash.
