San Antonio’s annual Fiesta celebration kicks off this week on April 20th and runs through April 30th! With 10 days of Fiesta events, it can be hard to pick and choose which events to attend. To help you enjoy all that Fiesta San Antonio has to offer we picked out some of our favorite events to share with you.
Fiesta Fiesta at Hemisfair – Free Event
Jump start your Fiesta experience with Fiesta Fiesta at Hemisfair on April 20th. The night’s events begin at 5:00 PM and run till 9:00 PM. While at Fiesta Fiesta make sure to check out favorite traditions: People’s Parade, Cutting of the Ugly Tie, and Breaking of the Cascaron. Other Fiesta Fiesta happenings include HeART in the Park, Pin Pandemonium, and Food Truck Park.
Alamo Heights Night
On April 21st from 5:30 PM – 11:30 PM have a grand time at Alamo Heights Night! The night will include delicious food from some of San Antonio’s leading restaurants and caterers. There will also be live entertainment, carnival, and firework show for the entire family to enjoy.
Fiesta De Los Reyes at Market Square – Free Event
Fiesta De Los Reyes at Market Square is amongst one of the largest free fiesta celebrations. The event runs from April 21st through April 30th. Each day you have the opportunity experience live entertainment on multiple stages and delicious foods from over 30 food booths.
Fiesta UTSA – Free Event
On April 21st from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM the University of Texas at San Antonio will be hosting their official Fiesta event for the 37th year. UTSA student organizations will provide food and game booths as a fundraiser for their respective organization. There will also be live music and performances by some of the student organizations.
Taste of New Orleans
Beginning on April 21st for three days head out the Taste of New Orleans at the Sunken Garden Theatre. Try out the mouthwatering flavors of New Orleans at this family-friendly event while listening to the sounds of smooth Jazz and Zydeco bands. Admission into the event is $12 presale and $15 at the gate.
Fiesta Oyster Bake
On the campus of St.Mary’s experience the 101st Anniversary of Fiesta Oyster Bake on April 21st and 22nd. With over 100,000 oysters and 70+ food and beverage booths, there are some excellent foods for the entire family to enjoy. Along with delicious food enjoy some awesome tunes, a full carnival, and even a firework show.
NIOSA which stands for A Night in Old San Antonio is a 4-day event beginning on April 25th in the historic downtown village of La Villita. The event includes 15 heritage-themed areas along with 250 food and drink booths. There are also over a dozen stages for where live entertainment will fill the sights and sounds.
Taste of the Northside
Come out for a Taste of the Northside on April 26th at 5:30 PM. Admission includes food samples, drink tickets, parking, & shuttle. You will get a taste of over 50 favorite San Antonio restaurants as they serve samples of their best dishes.
Battle of Flowers Parade
Since 1981 the Battle of Flowers Parade is an event that many look forward to. Over the years it has grown to over 45,000 parade seats. Each seat is sold by a range of charities in an effort for them to raise funds. The parade celebrates and honors the spirits of the patriots of the Alamo. If you aren’t able to make it to the parade itself on April 28th make sure to catch it on KSAT-12.
