"although they are slower than other repair facilities, I appreciate the thorough approach they take to analysis and diagnosis of car issues."

Thank you for your comment. There are times that we will take longer to diagnose or repair your car. We want to make sure that... 1) the diagnose is correct. 2) the repairs are completed and went through quality control.

"Excellent service and willing to talk with me as often as needed. You are quite expensive in my assessment though....about double what a small private mechanic would charge. You provide the value for sure, so I am not insulting your prices. It's merely a matter of whether a person in my income bracket can afford you. 2-3 repairs in your shop, and I would be way in the financial hole on my vehicles, unable to sell them without losing a lot of money. So that's how I assess the choice of whether to use Eurasian or not. However, when a problem is complicated and persistent, I would come to Eurasian to get to the bottom of it. Now....your last repair caused other things to break on my vehicle. It would have been nice to be forewarned. For example, most shops will warn against a transmission fluid change on high mileage transmissions.....perhaps you could have anticipated my catalytic converter failure given the valve lash repair coupled with catalytic codes in the computer....my catalytic failed within 100 miles of the valve lash repair! I would give 5 stars if you demonstrated concern for my pocketbook....maybe don't charge me a diag fee on my Honda electrical problem (because I told you where to look), or no diag fee on Chevrolet fuel pump repair (because its such a common and obvious problem). Little things like that would go a long way to solidifying my desire to work with you. But I feel my wallet is the last concern on your mind.... On balance however, I am convinced that, mechanically speaking, you do an honest job as well as you can."

Thank you for your comments. After reviewing your invoice there was a catalytic convertor failure code that was relied to you and was documented. We are here to help you resolve your car concerns. Yes, there are time that diagnostic charges will apply, due to the fact that we want to give you an exact answer to your car problem area. Please call me at 210-490-6552, if you have any questions. "This review will serve as an addendum to my previous review of Eurasian Auto Repair. I had needed brakes (rotors and pads) on all for corners for a while, so I finally broke down financially before my car broke down mechanically. I took my car (1996 Audi A4) in to have the rear brakes replaced. Keep in mind that I knew my fronts needed to be replaced as well, but a friend of mine was going to install them for me to save me some cash. The rear brake job was performed perfectly by EAR. However, the moment I drove away I heard a terrible noise coming from the front left wheel-well of my vehicle. I assumed it was the front brakes that I knew I needed to replace, and quickly. Fast-forward a few weeks and the noise and vibration had reached unacceptable levels. I parked my car in my garage, jacked up the driver's side front and examined my brakes. Pad wear was excessive but not close to metal-on-metal. What was the deal? The driver's side front wheel had NOT been mounted properly - the lug bolts were loose. This was the source of the terrible warping noise that I had assumed had stemmed from my brake issue. Wrong. My assumption? The technicians at EAR thought my car was in for a 4-wheel brake job, removed all four wheels (or at least three), then upon realizing their error quickly installed one of the wheels incorrectly. The threads on two of the five bolts were stripped and I had to purchase five new lug bolts from my local Audi dealership. Although I still trust EAR with my older vehicle, the lack of oversight with something so basic left a bad taste in my mouth. That is the reason for my adjusted 4-star rating as opposed to the previous 5-star rating. I still recommend them to anyone with non-domestic vehicle issues, just be sure to check your car out before driving it off of the repair lot."

"I used Eurasian Auto Repair for a pre-purchase inspection in September on a classic 1991 Mercedes Benz 350 SDL. I live in California and needed an expert opinion about a car I wanted to buy in the San Antonio area. I am very satisfied with the service the Eurasian Auto Repair team provided. John seems to know 80s-90s Mercedes diesels inside and out. He spent a lot of time on the phone with me explaining some of the minor issues he found with the car, which I ended up purchasing. If I lived in the San Antonio area, I would bring my car to Eurasian Auto Repair. :)"

"John talked with me and told me what he was doing in a logical fashion that I could understand and now I know that the car was not the problem but I was so now I can prevent the problem with good maintenance. Thank you John. Wish it could have been fixed faster however."
