Mazda Fun Facts
Zoom-Zoom! Mazda has used the phrase “Zoom-Zoom” in their advertising since 2000. This tagline has been extremely successful. It was initially used solely in North America, but due to its popularity and success, has now spread worldwide.
Fifteen years after coining the slogan “Zoom Zoom” to pitch its cars to customers who see driving as a pleasure and not a chore, Mazda Motor Corp. is hoping to refine its fun-to-drive message by launching its biggest U.S. marketing campaign in two years under a new tagline: “Driving Matters.”
Mazda’s company website states that its name is derived from Ahura Mazda, the god of light, intelligence and wisdom; Mazda means wisdom. The website also notes that the name stems from the name of the company’s founder, Jujiro Matsuda as well.
Mazda introduced the best-selling two-seat roadster of all time in the Mazda MX-5 Miata.
Common Mazda Repairs
Mazda Oil Leaks: There can be many signs that your Mazda is leaking oil. Obviously the stain on the driveway is one.
- My Mazda Engine Oil Light is on:
There are a number of warnings that a car will give when there are issues that need to be addressed with the engine oil. Most cars out there have a Low Engine Oil Light or Low Oil Pressure light that comes on if there is a problem with the level of lubricant in the engine. When either of these lights comes on, you will need to check the oil filter housing gasket and other related parts to find out what the issues is. Running the engine without the right amount of oil is a recipe for disaster. - My Mazda has oil dripping from the filter
Another very noticeable sign that the oil filter housing gasket is in need of replacement is oil dripping from the filter. Usually, there will be a puddle of oil underneath the car when this problem occurs, but not always. While this may be caused by a variety of issues, it can be caused by a failing oil filter housing gasket. By doing a visual inspection, you will be able to get to the bottom of where the oil is leaking from. - My Mazda has lower than normal oil pressure
If you start to notice that the oil pressure gauge on your instrument cluster is declining, then the oil filter housing gasket may be to blame. Engine oil is under slight pressure to help it get all around the engine where it needs to go. The more oil that leaks out of this damaged gasket, the lower the pressure in the engine will become. When the oil pressure becomes too low, the engine can fail if left unaddressed. Replacing the damaged gasket will help to remedy this issue and restore the pressure the engine needs.
Mazda Thermostat problems: These can be difficult on your wallet because they can ruin a car’s engine. This is a critical component that, when faulty, must be repaired immediately. Some symptoms are overheating, temperature fluctuations, and poor engine performance.
